Jigawa Investment Summit Targets Sustainable Growth, Strategic Partnerships, Economic Transformation…..Official

Jigawa State Government has announced plans to host the 2026 Jigawa State Investment Summit, aimed at attracting strategic investments and accelerating sustainable economic growth across critical sectors of the state’s economy.

This was announced by the state Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sport and Culture,  Mr Sagir Musa, at a press conference to unlock the summit potentials held on Monday in Dutse.

He said the summit, themed “Unlocking Opportunities: Driving Sustainable Growth for a Better Jigawa,” is scheduled to hold from July 1 to July 2, 2026 in the state.

Speaking during a press conference to unveil the event, Mr Musa described the summit as a major platform designed to connect policymakers, investors, development partners, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and industry leaders with emerging investment opportunities.

He explained that the initiative reflects Jigawa’s commitment to economic transformation, job creation and improving the living conditions of residents through strategic partnerships and private sector participation.

According to him, “Jigawa State possesses enormous economic potential driven by its peaceful business environment, fertile agricultural land, growing infrastructure, and youthful population, making it an attractive destination for both local and foreign investors.

“The summit will focus on four priority sectors considered critical to the state’s development agenda.

“These include agriculture, renewable energy, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and light manufacturing, as well as social services covering education and healthcare,” he highlighted.

The official further explained that the agriculture sector, will mobilise financing and investments for agricultural transformation, while the renewable energy component would explore alternative energy opportunities to support sustainable development.

“The MSMEs and light manufacturing segment is expected to position small businesses as drivers of industrialisation, while discussions on social services will centre on strengthening public-private partnerships to improve healthcare and educational service delivery,” he said.

The Jigawa State Government also, called on investors, business leaders, and development partners to take advantage of the summit to explore investment prospects across various sectors.

The administration assured prospective investors of its commitment to maintaining an enabling environment that promotes transparency, ease of doing business, and sustainable development across the state.
