Dutse, June 16, 2026 – Jigawa State Executive Council has approved the release of N97.71 million for the training of 2,600 personnel of the State Hisbah Board, to strengthen the agency’s operational capacity and service delivery across the state.
Mr Sagir Musa, the state Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, made this known in the highlights of the weekly executive council meeting held on Monday.
He said the beneficiaries will be drawn from the Hisbah Board headquarters, zonal commands, and the 27 Local Government Areas of the state.
The training he explained, is aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of Hisbah operations and improving coordination among personnel at various levels.
According to the commissioner, the training will equip participants with modern operational skills, improve their professional competence, and strengthen institutional capacity for the discharge of their responsibilities.
“The programme is also expected to foster better collaboration among officers stationed at the headquarters, zonal commands, and local government units, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency of the board’s activities across the state.
“The participants would be exposed to contemporary best practices in community engagement, institutional management, and service delivery to enable them to meet emerging operational challenges effectively,” he assured.
It was gathered that upon completion of the training, the 2,600 personnel are expected to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to improve operational performance, strengthen coordination among commands, and contribute to more effective Hisbah services throughout Jigawa State.
