APC Kano Welfare Secretary Resigns, Set to Join ADC

Bashir Maisango, the Welfare Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, has resigned from the party to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

His resignation comes barely a week after former Governor Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso and Nasiru Gawuna, the APC’s 2023 governorship candidate in Kano, officially joined the ADC.

Maisango, in a letter addressed to the APC state chairman, described his resignation as voluntary.

“I, Bashir Tijjani Maisango, hereby voluntarily resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective April 1, 2026,” he stated. “I appreciate the opportunities the party has given me and wish the APC well.”

The move signals growing momentum for the ADC in Kano ahead of upcoming political contests.
