Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has exhausted its allocated seats for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage.
The Director-General of the board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, disclosed this while briefing journalists on preparations for the pilgrimage.
Labbo said, the board had formally requested additional seats from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to meet rising demand.
He said the request has become necessary, following overwhelming interest from intending pilgrims across the state seeking to perform the 2027 Hajj.
The director-general explained that the registration portal for passport data capture, was currently closed, pending further directives from relevant authorities.
According to him, “the Forum of State Hajj Chairmen has appealed to NAHCON to reopen the portal for intending pilgrims,”
Labbo expressed optimism that NAHCON, would approve the additional allocation shortly, enabling more intending pilgrims to complete their documentation.
He commended staff of the board, for their dedication and commitment, which he said had contributed to smooth preparations for the pilgrimage.
Labbo however, appealed to intending pilgrims, to remain patient and await further official information, regarding additional seats and registration.
