The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Jigawa Directorate, has commended the government and people of Jigawa State for sustaining 35 years of development, peace and unity.

The State Director of NOA, Mallam Ahmed Tijjani Ibrahim, gave the commendation in a statement issued on Thursday to mark the 35th anniversary of the creation of the state.

Ibrahim congratulated Gov. Umar Namadi, members of the State Executive Council, traditional rulers and residents of the state on the milestone.

He said Jigawa had recorded significant progress since its creation in 1991, describing the achievements as a reflection of resilience, agricultural productivity, educational advancement and peaceful coexistence.

“From humble beginning in 1991, Jigawa State has grown into a model of resilience, agricultural productivity, educational advancement, and peaceful coexistence,” he said.

According to him, the progress recorded over the past 35 years was a testament to the vision of the state’s founding fathers, successive administrations and contributions of its citizens.

The NOA director said the state had witnessed remarkable strides in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, youth empowerment and social development across its 27 Local Government Areas.

He urged residents to use the anniversary to reflect on the shared values of unity, tolerance, patriotism and selfless service which, he said, had contributed to the peaceful atmosphere in the state.

Ibrahim also called on citizens to continue supporting government policies and programmes designed to promote sustainable development and reduce poverty.

“As we celebrate 35 years, let us renew our commitment to building the Jigawa of our dreams, a state where peace reigns, opportunities abound, and every citizen thrives,” he said.

He reaffirmed NOA Jigawa’s commitment to promoting national values and mobilising citizens towards nation-building and responsible citizenship.

Ibrahim prayed for continued peace, prosperity and progress in Jigawa State and Nigeria, while congratulating the government and people on the anniversary.
