The Multi Agency Task Force on Drug Abuse and Trafficking has inaugurated nine subcommittees to strengthen coordination in combating drug abuse and trafficking in Kano State.
The Chairman of the Task Force, Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado, inaugurated the committees on Friday, charging members to demonstrate commitment, dedication and determination.
Rimin Gado stressed that the success of the Task Force would depend largely on the seriousness and commitment members demonstrated in executing their responsibilities.
He urged the committees to redouble their efforts, work collectively and remain focused on achieving the objectives of the Task Force.
The chairman said combating drug abuse and trafficking required sustained commitment, effective coordination and a shared sense of responsibility among relevant stakeholders.
He explained that the committees were established to provide a coordinated and specialised approach to addressing the various dimensions of drug-related challenges.
According to him, the structure would facilitate collaboration among stakeholders while ensuring that interventions produce sustainable and measurable results across Kano State.
The nine committees are Finance, Media and Publicity; Advocacy and Sensitisation; Licences, Inventory and Verification; Compliance, Inspection and Electronic Tracking.
Others are Monitoring and Implementation; Intelligence; Reformative and Traditional Council; and Anti-Drug Coordination Committee.
Rimin Gado urged members to regard their appointments as a call to service, stressing that their responsibilities required discipline, professionalism and commitment.
He also encouraged the committees to maintain effective collaboration and ensure their activities translated into concrete results in the campaign against drug abuse and trafficking.
The inauguration represents another step by the Task Force towards strengthening institutional coordination and broadening responses to drug-related challenges across the state.
The committees are expected to deploy their expertise and coordinated efforts towards building a more effective and sustainable campaign against drug abuse and trafficking.
