Geregu Power Plc, has reaffirmed its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly efforts to improve Nigeria’s electricity generation.
The company also assured bondholders, trustees, shareholders and other stakeholders of its commitment to meeting its outstanding bond obligations.
The Chairman of Geregu Power Plc, Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, gave the assurances in a statement issued by the company.
Yari said the board remained committed to complementing Federal Government efforts to transform Nigeria’s power sector and ensure sustainable electricity supply.
He urged stakeholders to support initiatives aimed at improving electricity generation and supply across the country.
“As a stakeholder and a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I deem it incumbent on us all,” he said.
Yari said stakeholders must do everything possible to ensure the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He commended President Tinubu for supporting initiatives designed to strengthen Nigeria’s electricity generation capacity and improve the power sector.
The chairman further assured bondholders and other stakeholders that Geregu Power would honour its outstanding financial obligations.
He disclosed that the board was engaging the former management and board over outstanding legacy matters affecting the company.
“We continue to engage the former Management and Board of Geregu Power Plc regarding outstanding legacy matters,” Yari said.
He assured stakeholders that the issues would be resolved through necessary measures aimed at protecting shareholders and bondholders’ interests.
Yari said the board remained committed to preserving shareholder value and maintaining high standards of corporate responsibility.
The company also reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining and improving power generation for the benefit of Nigerians.
