Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State after securing 35,939 votes in the party’s primary election.
The Chairman of the Electoral Committee and Returning Officer for the exercise, Alhaji Zaki Mohammed Ahmed, announced the results during the collation of votes held at Tahir Guest Palace on Wednesday, May 27, 2027.
According to the committee chairman, a total of 55,476 valid votes were recorded across the 27 local government areas of the state during the primary election.
He stated that Hon. Basher Adamu came second in the contest with 19,533 votes.
Alhaji Zaki Mohammed Ahmed subsequently declared Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu as the duly elected governorship candidate of the ADC for the 2027 gubernatorial election in Jigawa State.
The primary election was described as peaceful and orderly, with party officials and delegates participating in the exercise conducted across the state.
