President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Jigawa State, polling a total of 206,520 votes.
The result was announced at the party’s collation centre in Dutse, by the returning officer and Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi.
Governor Namadi disclosed that the primary election was conducted across the 27 local government areas of the state and described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and orderly.
According to him, the APC has 330,327 registered members in Jigawa State, while 206,520 members were accredited to participate in the exercise.
He stated that President Tinubu secured all 206,520 votes casted, while the second contestant, Mr. Osifo Stanley, recorded no vote.
“The state has a total of 330,327 registered APC members, out of which 206,520 voters were accredited.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu scored 206,520 votes, while Mr. Osifo Stanley scored zero vote,” the governor announced.
Speaking shortly after the victory, Namadi reiterated the commitment of the Jigawa state APC to deliver more than one million votes to President Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
He described the massive turnout at the primary election, as the confidence and trust the people of Jigawa State have in the leadership of President Tinubu.
“As you can see, party members turned out massively in support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while there was no visible support for his opponents.
“This clearly demonstrates the President’s popularity among the people of Jigawa State,” Namadi said.
The governor further noted that the orderly conduct of the exercise underscored the President’s commitment to democratic principles and internal party democracy.
He added that the outcome of the presidential primary sends a strong signal to opposition parties that the APC remains firmly positioned for victory at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
