A press statement from the Office of the Deputy Governor of Jigawa State has dismissed widespread rumours claiming that the Deputy Governor, Aminu Usman Gumel, has resigned from office, describing the reports as baseless and misleading.
In the statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ahmad Haruna, the government urged politicians and supporters across Jigawa State to exercise caution and responsibility in disseminating unverified information, particularly on social media platforms.
The statement futher clarified that there is no misunderstanding or strained relationship between the Deputy Governor and his principal, Governor Umar Namadi.
It however, emphasized that both leaders have maintained a strong and cordial working relationship throughout their years in office.
According to the release, “the Deputy Governor remains fully loyal and committed to supporting the Governor, while Governor Namadi continues to provide his deputy with all necessary support and opportunities to function effectively within the framework of governance.
“The relationship between the Governor and his Deputy is built on mutual respect and trust, akin to that of a father and son,” the statement noted.
The press office also warned individuals against spreading unfounded claims, urging that any public commentary or publication should be backed by credible evidence to avoid misinformation and its consequences.
