Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Rano, Muhammad Isa Umaru, on Saturday, following the death of his mother, Hajiya Maimuna Isa Umaru.
During the visit to the Rano Emirate, Governor Yusuf expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the late matriarch as a compassionate and exemplary mother, whose life left a lasting impact on her family and community.
“On behalf of myself, my family, the government and the entire people of Kano State, we extend our heartfelt condolences and pray that Almighty Allah forgives her shortcomings and grants her Aljannatul Firdaus,” the governor stated.
During the condolence visit, the Governor was accompanied by top government officials, political associates, and representatives of party leadership at both national and state levels.
In his response, the Emir of Rano expressed gratitude for the governor’s solidarity, emphasizing the strong bond between the Kano State Government and the people of Rano Emirate.
He commended the governor for fostering unity across the state and acknowledged the ongoing developmental projects being conducted in the emirate, including water supply, road construction, and market development.
Meanwhile, the governor also visited the hometown of the late Assistant Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Barrister Abdussalam Ginsau, who passed away while participating in preparations for the party’s national convention in Abuja.
Governor Yusuf described the deceased as a diligent, honest, and God-fearing individual, praying for the repose of his soul in Aljannatul Firdaus.
Speaking during the visit, the Kano State APC Chairman, Haruna Umar Doguwa, disclosed that preliminary findings indicated that Ginsau died naturally, dismissing suspicions of foul play.
He described the late party official as a dependable ally whose sudden death came as a shock.
Family members, local government officials, and community leaders, including the Chairman of Rano Local Government, Nazir Muhammad Yau, expressed appreciation to the governor for his compassion and support during their time of grief.
