Anguwan Rukuba Attack Leaves Four Dead, Ten Missing, JNI Confirms Casualties

Plateau State chapter of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), has confirmed the killing of four Muslims and the disappearance of 10 others, following a recent attack on Anguwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area.

In a press statement issued March 30, 2026 and signed by the organisation’s Secretary, Dr Salim Musa Umar, JNI said the figures were established after thorough investigations and reports gathered from affected Muslim communities.

According to the statement, some of the victims’ bodies have been identified at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), while 10 persons remained unaccounted for.

The missing individuals, the group noted, have not been in contact with their families since Sunday, with their phone lines reportedly switched off.

JNI further disclosed that two injured persons, are currently receiving medical treatment at JUTH, adding that the organisation is maintaining close contact with the families of the victims.

The group expressed deep condolences to the families that lost their loved ones in the attack, urging the public to remain calm in the face of the tragedy.

JNI also commended the efforts of the Plateau State Government and security agencies, for their prompt response in bringing the situation under control.
