Jigawa State pilgrims Welfare Board, has commended Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa state for nominating Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Muhammad Sanusi to lead the 2026 pilgrims on pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
Ahamed Umar labbo, Director General of the Board, gave the commendation in a statement signed by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Habibu Babura on Saturday.
Labbo in the statement, disclosed that the nomination was well deserved, considering the Emir’s dedication to religion and his role as a great community leader in Jigawa State.
He then emphasized that the Amirul Hajj, possesses the necessary religious knowledge to lead the pilgrimage.
The board according to the statement, pledged to work closely with him and would seek his advice as a community leader on all matters arising during the holy journey.
On behalf of the staff of the board, Labbo extended a congratulatory message to the Amirul Hajj, affirming the commitment of his staff to collaboration.
It was gathered that Gov. Umar Namadi of Jigawa state appointed the Emir of Dutse as Amirul Hajj, to lead the Jigawa state Pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The nomination, which was announced on Thursday, received accolades by residents and the pilgrims, as the Emir will lead the over 1,000 pilgrims from Jigawa state.
