Gov. Namadi tasks new Jigawa APC executives on upholding party constitution

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa state, has tasked the newly elected executives of the Jigawa state All Progressives Congress (APC) and commended the peaceful and successful conduct of the State Congress.

Speaking during the Congress held at the state Stadium in Dutse, Namadi described the exercise as orderly, transparent though conducted entirely by consensus, in line with the party’s constitutional provisions.

He reminded the newly elected executives, that their emergence through consensus, signified the confidence reposed in them by party members.

“The elected leaders should know that this is a trust you have accepted on behalf of the people of Jigawa State. Each of you took an oath here to be just and avoid favouritism,” the governor reminded.

He emphasized that fairness and strict adherence to the party constitution are essential to sustaining unity, noting that injustice often breeds internal discord within political organizations.

The governor expressed gratitude to God for guiding the party through the process, explaining that the Congress process began at ward level and progressed to the local government stage, and culminated at the state level.

He affirmed that all the congresses were conducted through consensus among party members in a peaceful manner.

Namadi however, described the exercise as a clear demonstration of unity within the APC in Jigawa State, stressing that the absence of acrimony or complaints testifies to the maturity and unity among the party stakeholders.

“As APC leaders at the state level, we will continue to work with everyone because what we witnessed today, shows that the APC in Jigawa State is one united party, and everyone who attended is part of us,” he said.

He expressed appreciation to the party elders across the state, who participated in the congress, including the Minister of state for education, members of the National and State Assemblies.

The governor further expressed gratitude to the national party delegation that conducted the election process in the state, commending them for ensuring a peaceful and credible exercise.

In his remarks, the newly elected state party chairman, Mr Ahmed Garba MK, expressed gratitude to the party and the governor for the opportunity to serve.

“We thank the party and His Excellency for entrusting us with this responsibility. We are deeply grateful, and we assure you that we will work tirelessly to secure the party’s success in all elections ahead,” he said.

He pledged, on behalf of all elected officials, to discharge their duties diligently and with excellence, ensuring that the party continues to dominate the political landscape in the state.

The new Chairman howevwe, noted that Jigawa State leads as one of the states with the highest numbers of registered APC members in Nigeria.

He attributed the achievement to Governor Namadi’s inclusive leadership and grassroots mobilization efforts.

While reasserting party discipline, he issued a clear warning against dual party loyalty, stressing that whoever holds two membership cards must choose one.
