Dutse, Feb.27, 2026

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has strengthened its collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to ensure maximum safety, security, and seamless processing of pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, made this known during a strategic meeting with the State Comptroller of Immigration at the Board’s headquarters.

The meeting focused on enhancing security arrangements and streamlining screening procedures ahead of the 2026 Hajj operations.

Alhaji Labbo emphasized the need for efficient screening equipment and improved procedures at the airport to facilitate smooth clearance of intending pilgrims.

According to him, deploying adequate personnel and modern screening facilities will help eliminate delays, ease the movement of pilgrims, and ensure timely boarding for the pilgrimage.

He further called for sustained collaboration among all security agencies to safeguard pilgrims and their belongings from the Hajj camp through airport departure to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Director General expressed appreciation to the Immigration Service and other security agencies for their continued support and commitment to the success of Hajj operations in the state.

In response, Mr Tahir Musa, the Immigration Boss in Jigawa, assured their full cooperation to the board, pledging to provide the necessary support to guarantee the safety, security, and overall well-being of Jigawa pilgrims throughout the 2026 Hajj exercise.
